That is a huge number of television ads being sold!!
A Big reason why many homes do not watch television any longer. The public, in general, is being sold a bill of goods, mostly by the pharmaceutical companies, each time the television is on.
Families are turning to other forms of entertainment. They are smart, keeping their young children away from the constant barrage of sickness being sold.
It’s crazy how these pharmaceutical companies use caricatures to help sell their products.
These little creatures sell drugs.
The angry monster living under your toe because you may have a fungus, or the sad shadow following you around because you must be depressed.
Pretty sad to think this type of advertising is actually working.
Prescription drug spending is the third most expensive cost in our health care system today.
So what do you do and who do you trust?
Well, in this day and age there are many things you can do. You can do your research, just by using the Internet alone, you can seek out others wanting to find the same answers to questions you yourself are asking.
Still, how can you trust the sites you are referring to?
Keep doing more research.

Take the time to read reputable articles from reputable sources. Ones that aren’t trying to sell you anything but are merely there to give you information for your benefit.

These methods have been around for thousands of years and are making a come-back in a big way.
The best way to avoid the flu or any sickness, is prevention.
What are you doing on a daily basis to prevent yourself from being sick?
Look at the simple things first.
- Are you getting enough rested sleep?
- Drinking plenty of fresh water?
- Eating balanced meals?
- Practice a daily meditation or yoga?
These are just a few of the things that are common factors in everyday lives from thriving individuals.
You don’t have to ‘catch the latest bug’ this season. It’s been so brainwashed into our heads that we are going to get sick; people believe it to be true.
So, what is the easiest thing to do to prevent getting the flu this season?
Eat whole, fresh, unprocessed nutritious foods that will give you strength and energy. When your diet consists of nutritious and sustaining foods and you eat only what you know you can digest, your body will be on its way to a healthier, more balanced way of living.

- Eat raw, baked, or steamed.
The beneficial effect from these three root foods separately is amplified greatly when prepared together.
Here is one of my favorite recipes I’d like to share:
Solstice Mung Beans and Rice with Vegetables
A perfectly balanced protein dish, easy to digest and very satisfying. Good any time of year but makes a particularly good winter diet.
4 ½ cups water
½ cup whole mung beans
½ cup basmati rice
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup finely minced ginger root
3 cups chopped vegetables
2 tablespoons ghee or oil
¾ tablespoon turmeric
¼ teaspoon dried crushed red chilés
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon coriander
½ teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon salt
Rinse the mung beans and rice. (I like to soak my beans overnight so they’re nice and ready to cook)
Add the mung beans to boiling water and cook until they begin to split.
Add the rice and cook another 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Now add the vegetables.
Heat the ghee/oil in a sauté pan and add the onions, garlic, and ginger and sauté until clear.
Add the spices and cook 5 more minutes, stirring constantly.
Add a little water if necessary.
Add this to the cooked rice and beans.
You can substitute vegetables to your taste, as well as use Bragg Liquid Aminos, tamari, or soy sauce instead of salt.
Tastes great with yogurt!

Another great way to boost your blood to SUPER HEALTH – consume tons of garlic.
Everyone that sees this thinks “you’re going to stink” but the opposite is true.
If you eat garlic every day (okay, let’s say for you beginners, at least once per week) your body gets accustomed to this potent food and will eventually digest in a way that will keep you from worrying about the odor. The garlic you eat will become odorless once your body is used to ingesting and digesting this miracle food.
This is how many of us garlic lovers eat our garlic:
- Toast your bread
- Spread coconut oil (better than butter for many reasons)
- Get however many cloves of garlic you can handle and chop up
- Heat the garlic in small amount of oil (again, coconut is best)
And your garlic toast is ready to enjoy.
On a personal note: I have eaten this way for many years and I have yet to become sick during the cold season.
