Juicing For Weight Loss – The Healthy Way to Lose Weight

The health benefits of wheatgrass juice are becoming widely recognized throughout the world.

Wheatgrass will create the body you desire.

I am a great example of someone who has gained over fifty pounds and lost it all by juicing wheatgrass.

Juicing for weight loss is very doable and not extreme.

It is always a good idea to check with your health care practitioner first.
You want to be sure you are ready to embark on a new way of eating without complications.

Once I decided to lose the weight I’ve been carrying around for way too long it was very easy to implement a healthy juicing program for myself.

Now, I’m excited to share this information with anyone looking to do the same.

It all started with wheatberries which led me to juicing wheatgrass.

How to Grow Wheatgrass

I studied the wheatberry exclusively and found this to be the way I was going to begin my journey to weight loss.

It is definitely by far the easiest way to lose weight while maintaining your health without compromising your protein intake, which is a big concern for many.

Wheatgrass is a good source of potassium and protein, plus it a great source of dietary fiber.
It also is rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E (alpha tocopherol), Vitamin K, Thiamin, Niacin, Riboflavin, Vitamin B6, Pantothenic Acid, Copper, Zinc, Selenium, and Manganese.  (source)

Many people have asked me “what is up with the wheatgrass, and tell me more about it”
Especially once they’ve seen me lose up to 50 pounds and looking better than I have in many years.

I began by reading everything I can about this amazing berry and decided it was the right choice for me.

I’d start the day with 2 ounces of freshly cut juiced wheatgrass, and 2 ounces in the evening before sunset.
Once in the morning and once in the evening.

That’s it.

NOTE – wheatgrass in extremely powerful.
It has the ability to detox your body at a very accelerated pace.

Do not take more than 4 ounces in 24 hours.

A 2 ounce shot of wheatgrass is equivalent to 5 pounds of raw vegetables!!

Wheatgrass is higher in Vitamin C than oranges and has twice the amount of Vitamin A as carrots.

It contains the full spectrum for Vitamin B as well as calcium, potassium, magnesium and sodium.

People often ask, “where do you get your protein?”.
I tell them wheatgrass is a complete source of protein, supplying all essential amino acids, and so much more.

It’s easy to find out the truth about wheatgrass.
It’s hard for meat eaters to believe the amount of protein in wheatgrass is healthier than the protein found in meat, by far.

When I decided to juice for weight loss and began my wheatgrass juicing I didn’t think I was able to do it without being hungry.

I was pleasantly surprised at how I always felt full and never felt hungry.

The protein in wheatgrass is in the form of polypeptides, which is a simpler and shorter chain of amino acids, which is more effective for blood circulation, and cell tissues.

I began juicing to lose weight but I quickly realized that I’ve never had more energy and felt so good, not only because I was losing unwanted weight quickly; but because I was generally feeling better in my whole being.

I researched wheatgrass some more and found when drinking this super green juice; your blood is being alkalinized while ridding your body of all toxic build-up, that’s been stored in deep tissue for many years.

Juicing for weight loss

The importance of having alkalinized blood:

It’s important to have your body stay more alkaline than acidic.

Some signs of being over acidic are allergies, colds, psoriasis, eczema, bloating, sinus and flu problems that never seem to go away, or if they do go away they soon come back.

Eventually, chronic illness that keeps perpetuating will eventually create havoc in your life.

Your body’s pH balance is good to know. The pH scale runs between 0-14 with 7 being neutral.
Below 7 is too acidic; above 7 is alkaline with the optimal blood level being 7.365.

You can find pH strips and test yourself at home.

The pH level of our bodily fluids will affect each cell in the body.

Our entire metabolic processing depends on a healthy alkaline environment.

It is a fact that most of the western diet is ACIDIC forming for our bodies; dairy products, caffeine, meat, sugar, saturated fats and refined carbohydrates all contribute to our chronic over acidic society.

If not looked at seriously, those who continue to live an acidic life, continuing on this path will lead to cells corroding many of the body’s tissue on a deep cellular level.

An over acidic body is the root of all sickness and disease.
It is also the reason many people remain overweight.

My body was way too over acidic when I began my juicing for weight loss program at home.

I was adamant on changing this.

I  learned to accept the fact that I needed to make some serious changes and I did.

Beginning with juicing wheatgrass.

It’s no wonder my overall well being was in a much happier state.

When people first hear of drinking wheatgrass they are somewhat confused at how they’re supposed to ‘like’ it and make it a part of their everyday diet.

This is understandable for those who have never tried it before.

Wheatgrass can be very sweet, depending on how it’s grown.
The wheatgrass we were growing in our home was incredibly sweet and went down easy, no problem!

It was the best decision I’ve ever made.
Fast forward 6 years, my weight is still off and I am beginning to help others do the same.
It’s a great feeling to see others get well and live with health and vitality.

  1. Hello here. Grass juicing is an effective method to replenish body with vital nutrients. Especially on winter time we can have these juice every morning. We can grow grass in our kitchens.
Famous Ann Wigmore introduced wheat berry grass. She grew it in her kitchen. She wrote about her experience after usage. Her hair regained color, her overall being improved.
I wonder if you take something more as grass juice?
When we get all needed nutrients and small amount of calories, our weight can be lowered without harm your health.
    All the best. Nemira.

    1. Hi Renan,

Speaking from experience, I drank wheatgrass during my pregnancy and experienced nothing but positive results. However, it is important to realize the potency of wheatgrass and not over-do it.

Your daughter will feel great with simply 2 ounces of wheatgrass liquid per day.

      Congratulations on becoming a grandpa!

There is nothing quite like it, I have 2 grandchildren of my own.

Thank you for leaving a comment and good luck to you and your daughter 🙂

  3. First of all, congrats for your successful diet! It is a really nice information and I am going to tell my mom because she always tries something that will make her lose weight faster.

I am worrying about her health, I am gonna try this on her, at least your method is natural. Natural means no harm 🙂

    Best regards, thanks

    1. Thank you! I definitely feel much better. Have your mother check with her Dr before she begins anythin new.

Juicing is great for many people but it’s always good to be certain!

Good Luck with helping your mother and thank you for your comment =)

  4. Hello, your article is really interesting! Honestly, I’ve never heard about juicing wheatgrass! It’s a great idea and I didn’t even know that it’s so healthy and such a good source of protein…

I would love to try it but I am not sure if I can buy it in a normal supermarket like Tesco or Sainsbury’s..I live in the UK… I know some special shops sell it but I would need to order it online…

Also I would like to check if it’s gluten-free?

It’s awsome you’ve lost your weight and you are feeling so good!

Good luck to you and thank you!

    1. Yes, there is a way to order in the UK, here is the link. Wheatgrass in the UK

To answer your question concerning gluten; wheat grass is a wheat-based product; however, the grass has not yet developed sprouts that would contain gluten. People who are gluten sensitive have used wheatgrass without any form of reaction. However, it is best to be informed and understand the distinction between wheatgrass and gluten and know the place of manufacturing, cross-contamination may be a potential issue, and asking questions to the source is always a good idea.

Thank you for your comment, and good luck to you! Let me know how it goes.

  5. Wow, Wheatgrass sounds like the most amazing stuff. I had no idea it could do all these things.

What does it taste like. Is it one of those things you have to just live with, or is it actually tasty?

My question with juicing is when you stop juicing and go back to eating normally, healthily of course, do you put the weight back on?

    1. The taste varies depending on how it’s grown. There are a variety of different grasses too. When we grow our wheatgrass, it is always sweet and very good. To answer your question about gaining weight back, that is all up to the person doing their program. Personally, I didn’t and I’m still 50 pounds lighter than when I first began my journey to a healthy lifestyle. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!

  6. These are in fact great ideas in regarding blogging.
You have touched some nice things here. Any way keep up wrinting.

  7. Wow, what a captivating article! I have never really needed to lose weight, as I’ve always had a petite frame, but if I ever needed to, I will be turning to wheatgrass! I truly knew next to nothing about wheatgrass, but you have opened my eyes to so many great benefits of it! Who knew it could help someone lose weight AND be a great source of protein? Great article, thanks for sharing.

  8. You have an interesting idea. Vegetables are a very important aspect of a healthy diet. So far though I have eaten my vegetables and haven’t practiced juicing. How fast did you lose 50 pounds by juicing? What was the rest of your diet like?

    1. Thank you, Matthew. I lost the 50 pounds within 7 months, and kept it off. I ate large fresh salads every day and drank lots of fresh water.

  9. Forgive my ignorance . …Could I have wheatgrass if I’m gluten sensitivite or celiac? I honestly don’t know. One of my own issues is eating or drinking things that end up making me horribly sick and curled up in a ball…nonfunctional. Could I juice and still lose my most unwelcome spare tire in my mid-section from studying in graduate school? Should I maybe focus on juicing celery and carrots or apples or kale or something? Thanks for an informative post! ~ Tam

    1. Thanks for your comment, Tam – I would see a DOM and ask those very important questions you are seeking answers to. I am certain there is a way for you to stay focused in graduate school, and live a healthy vibrant life. I love celery, carrots and kale (with a splash of ginger) keep looking into alternative ways to help you lose that “spare tire” – you will only benefit and feel better by it!

  10. I have always been interested in juicing, this post lit a fire! I’m going to check out more of your articles and see about getting started. I like your writing style, it’s informative but not preachy,
I assume that juicing is okay for diabetics (type 1, in my case!) Do you have any tips specific to diabetics?

    1. Hi Dara! Thank you for stopping by and commenting. Ask an alternative health care professional, DOM’s are good at this and can guide you towards a healthy juicing program along side being diabetic. Good luck and come back again.

  11. I just love wheat grass juice. I’m amazed that I can get used to the strong taste of it to the point where it really feels like kind of a blood transfusion. Within just a couple of minutes of drinking it I can virtually feel the old molecules getting kicked out and the new green molecules taking their place lol

I think you’re right. Juicing can be such a huge help for losing weight, also. I’ve used a lot of celery juice with a little ginger and occasionally wheat grass. I wish there was an easy way to grow the wheat grass instead of buying it, since it can be a bit costly.

Do you use much celery juice?

    1. Yes, I do use celery juice. Love carrot, celery and a little ginger juiced together. I like what you said about the old molecules getting kicked out and new green ones taking their place 🙂

thanks for the comment and stop by again!
